Why Some Mistresses Keep Watching the Wife Even After Being “Chosen”

One uncomfortable truth people rarely talk about is this:

sometimes the obsession never ends, even after the man leaves the marriage.

You would think that once the mistress “wins,” she would finally feel secure and happy. Yet many still keep checking the wife’s social media, watching silently from afar, comparing lifestyles, appearances, achievements, travels, and even emotional reactions.

Why?

Because being chosen does not automatically remove insecurity.

In many situations, the wife represents something the mistress cannot easily imitate — years of history, shared struggles, loyalty, independence, achievements, personal growth, and a life built through hard work.

And sometimes, there is another layer people avoid discussing.

For some women, especially those struggling financially or feeling trapped in difficult situations, a foreign man can appear as a “way out” a chance for a different lifestyle, financial security, migration opportunities, or social elevation. This does not apply to everyone, but it does happen.

Meanwhile, there are wives who built their lives completely differently.

Women who traveled the world alone.

Built careers on their own.

Created businesses, properties, achievements, and experiences without relying on a man to rescue them.

That difference becomes impossible to ignore.

Because there is a huge difference between:

building a life through your own strength

and depending on someone else’s life to escape your own.

A self-made woman carries a confidence that cannot be copied overnight. The travels, wisdom, career growth, experiences, connections, independence, and resilience were earned through years of sacrifice, risks, heartbreaks, and hard work.

And deep down, some mistresses know this.

That is why comparison continues.

Not because the wife is “losing,” but because her existence reminds them that some things cannot simply be stolen through someone else’s relationship.

You can take a man.

You cannot take the years she spent building herself.

You cannot copy lived experiences.

You cannot duplicate genuine independence.

You cannot recreate a woman who survived life on her own and still managed to rise.

And eventually, the wife begins to understand something important:

Peace is far more valuable than fighting for someone capable of betrayal.

The greatest revenge is no longer anger, competition, or proving anything. It is continuing to grow while staying unbothered — traveling more, succeeding more, healing more, and becoming happier without needing validation from anyone.

Because in the end, the woman who truly wins is not the one who was temporarily chosen by a man…

It is the woman who never abandoned herself.
